In art history, fruit has always symbolized vitality and abundance. Today, people want to see perfectly-shaped produce, and “ugly” fruit is often discarded. This project challenges this preference for “perfection” and reflects on how biomimetic marketing uses idealized nature to influence consumer choices, often ignoring the true value of imperfect forms. 3D printing, a highly controlled synthetic process, symbolizes society's attempt to artificially 'perfect' nature. In contrast, the 3D printed replicas retain the unique 'imperfections' rather than the 'perfection' of the ugly fruit, making these imperfections permanent – qualities that are often highly prized in the art world but not in nature.

Using After effect to create a sense of analog "trompe l'oeil" beyond photoshop, a tool used to create perfection and perpetuate beauty standards.
